In a cyberpunk future, a team of disgraced mercenaries unravel the conspiracy behind a deadly terrorist bombing in Los Angeles.

SYNOPSIS:

In the year 2134, crime and terror are at an all time high and the police are ill-equipped to do anything about it. Enter the Lancer Core. Elite freelance mercenaries who take the contracts the police and military deem too dangerous. Jovi, Oz and Dex are a team of Lancers who are chasing down a low-level target after a slip up from Jovi caused them to drop in the Lancer Core rankings. They manage to apprehend the target, who is no match for former high-ranking Lancers.

KBL Complex B is destroyed. A massive open contract shows up for the capture of the domestic terrorist Marcus Ramirez that is open to all Lancers. Jovi, Oz and Dex take it. Oz and Jovi go to KBL complex B. There they meet Miriam Day, the head of KBL security for the region and Oz spots a Titan tattoo on her neck. While talking with her Jovi helps Dex hack into the complex’s systems to steal information. While at the complex, Jovi and Oz run into the mostly machine Lancer IZE, who instigates Jovi causing her to pull her guns on him and get kicked out of the complex. This sparks a fight between Jovi and Oz back at their office and Oz storms out. Jovi suspects KBL regional director Derrek Brennen was Marcus’s target.

Jovi goes to see Jefferson, an old friend and owner of the Fractured night club. Jefferson advises Jovi to be careful, especially in her line of work, knowing full well she won’t listen. Jefferson gets Jovi tickets and a dress to a gala event that the KBL regional director Derrek Brennen is hosting. Jovi speaks with him, but something is off. Before she can get more out of him though, Marcus Ramirez shows up and attempts to kill Brennen, but Jovi fights him off. Marcus gets away and Jovi is forced to return to the office empty handed.

Oz contacts Miriam Day and she agrees to meet him at a bar. Oz reveals he knows about her military past and they reminisce about their pasts. Miriam confided in Oz about her sister being killed in the KBL explosion and how she wants vengeance. Meanwhile, Jovi and Dex go through all the information they secured from the complex and discover that Marcus’s mother lived in the complex. Dex finds the address of Marcus’s brother Gabrial and Jovi goes to talk to him but is confronted my Marcus. Jovi tells him she knows about her mother and they talk. Marcus confesses that he’s been working for Derrek all along and that he wanted out, but Derrek didn’t like that idea, so he killed his mother in an attempt to kill him. Jovi tells Marcus she’ll help him. On the way back to her office Jovi and Marcus are attacked by several Lancers. A battle ensues both on the surface and in the cities underground tunnel network. Jovi is injured in the battle and Marcus helps her escape while the Lancers fight each other over the contract.

Derrek shows up to the office with IZE and tells Marcus that the blood of the innocent is on his hands. A battle breaks out and there’s ass-kickery all around from the good guys. Marcus protects Jovi from a rocket, and they are blasted through a wall. Marcus is fatally wounded and gives Jovi the data chit with the dirt on Derrek before dying. Jovi and the others escape and leave the city to an old bunker that Miriam owns.

Oz and Dex fight their way back into the office to blast the dirt on Derrek across the net while Jovi and Miriam sneak into KBL regional HQ to confront Derrek. Along the way they come across IZE and several KBL goons. Jovi fights IZE while Miriam fights the goons. Jovi cripples IZE with a rocket launcher but his head crawls away. They are brought before Derrek who is about to kill them but is caught off guard by the new spreading of his misdeeds being brought into light. Jovi disarms Derrek and convinces Miriam NOT to kill him saying that letting him live to face the consequences is a more fitting punishment.

Ending: Jovi, Oz and Dex are all drinking in a bar. Miriam shows up and tells them she was offered her job at KBL back, but she declined, deciding instead to join Jovi, Oz and Dex as a Lancer.
