When an ancient hourglass grants them their deepest desires, two reluctant explorers discover that what they are really searching for is themselves.

SYNOPSIS:

Sophie and Ben, explorers at opposite ends of the caution spectrum, discover a tomb containing ancient artefacts. Sophie is reluctant to touch anything in the tomb, scarred by her overbearing father’s multiple near-death experiences. She wishes wholeheartedly that she had found someone else to cover when their colleague, Mason, had to stay behind due to an ankle injury.

Ben also wishes Sophie wasn’t there, what a buzzkill! To break the boredom, and to Sophie’s horror, he turns the hourglass, whilst joking that he hasn’t had a boiled egg in a while. The chamber door seals shut, and a mini tornado whips up inside the tomb, clearing to reveal a boiled egg! Ben devours the egg and turns the hourglass again - this time wishing for sex.

A tornado whips up again, bigger this time, leaving behind a handsome male apparition. Ben and Sophie blame each other for his materialisation, before Ben uses a third wish to transport Sophie out of the chamber, leaving just himself and his new companion sealed inside. The apparition states that he is here to satisfy Ben’s deepest desire.

Ben refuses the apparition, who then flickers through multiple guises, each rejected by Ben. The apparition finds one that touches a nerve with Ben, when he assumes the appearance of Mason. Ben lashes out, but then settles into the realisation that this really is his deepest desire. He fears that Mason thinks he’s a dick (probably because he acts like one). The apparition pushes him to pursue what he really wants, prompting him to leave the tomb to make a fresh start with Mason.

Outside the sealed tomb, he discovers Sophie trying to find a way in. He assumes that they will go back to camp together, but she loiters, and he realises that she wasn’t just trying to rescue him - she was attempting to regain entry to the tomb. She now knows that the hourglass delivers your deepest desire, and she’s feeling bolder than she’s ever been.

Ben reluctantly leaves Sophie behind, intent on his mission. He appears at Mason’s tent, to try to convince Mason that he is not, in fact, a dick. As his deepest desire is satisfied, the handsome man winks out of existence. Only Sophie remains in the tomb, hell-bent on her own mission - to finally stand up to her father. She turns the hourglass.
