SYNOPSIS:
James “Jimmy” Ryan Jr. was born to play baseball. Now a high school senior with a full-ride scholarship to Stanford and the projected first overall pick in the MLB draft, he appears to have it all together. But years of what James would describe as tough love, which usually unfolds during the car ride home, has tarnished Jimmy’s love for the game. To make matters worse, James and his wife, Kirsten, are torn over Jimmy’s future. With the draft around the corner, Mike Carter, a big-time sports agent, offers to represent Jimmy. At his next game, Jimmy spirals out of control after making an error that costs his team the lead. With James watching, thoughts of the ride home take over, culminating in every baseball player’s worst nightmare – the yips. Expected to just “deal with it,” James offers little remorse. Backed into a corner, Jimmy plays the next game and the yips return. Emotionally shattered, Jimmy hits rock bottom where we are left wondering what will come of this detrimental tale.
