BINGE

BINGE
By Duncan Kinzie

GENRE: Comedy, Sci-fi
LOGLINE:

Two deadbeat dropouts find themselves trapped in a surreal TV world and struggle to escape back to their creature comforts.

SYNOPSIS:

In a sleepy midwestern town, in a dark basement, 2 young men are running from their responsibilities. Nate Hazel (25) is a cynical curmudgeon living out the rest of his aimless and mistake-laden life at his parents' house. His aloof and eccentric best friend Eli Gorbiwitz (27) regularly drops by to shack up with a few too many substances and a long night of TV.

But the morning after Nate's received the ultimatum of "shape up or get out" from his parents, the boys awake to find themselves in a surreal sitcom recreation of their lives full of laugh tracks and one-liners. Just as they're starting to understand why their friends and family are acting so out of character, off they go to another episode... and another genre entirely.

Each episode sees Nate and Eli plopped into a new spoof of TV's many recognizable shows and styles. Whether they're competing for the same Bachelorette or diagnosing a new E.R. patient, if they ever hope to figure out what's happening to them and how to get back home, they'll have to do the one thing they've been trying to avoid: getting off their butts.

BINGE is an exploration of what TV is in our lives. Its lighthearted comedies give the boys the confidence to strive for more, and its harrowing dramas make them take a long hard look at their troubled pasts. Through a vibrant collage of familiar tropes and situations, BINGE unpacks the lives of two young men who have given up, and their journey to take it all back.
