About Carlv

I've been writing informally since reading the Cole/ Haag version of how to write screenplays. My analysis of my current project epitomizes what I know about the elements of a successful screenplay.
I've written 15 songs for my screenplay "AT&T MUSICAL". This is my first screenplay. Musicals and action thrillers helped me to finish this project. Some of the screenplays read are: Chicago, Ray, Frozen, Dream Girls, Cadillac Records, The Wiz and the Bourne Trilogy. The velocity of the Bourne Trilogy and its short, action scenes propel my work in similar motion. The question of whether lyrics add or impede the flow of the plot is answered like this: Our heroine, Carla Van Gogh, wrote the script, the lyrics, produced and directed it. She, rather than me, created the 5-key turning point structure for all successful screenplays, the conflicts, her own dilemma and resolution. For example, flashbacks of 'Success Kills' impede her confidence in the beginning, on game day. Her lover, Jan, demands that the two do a number to motivate her , right then and there. They sing immediately. Consequently, the song actually heals her, and she moves full speed ahead with directing.
So the lyrics have purpose in the plot and are therefore necessary. All lyrics in the screenplay strenghten the plot in similar fashion.
If you understand how this works, you will recognize skill and how I think even if this is my first screenplay. Additionally, writing and marketing a musical is an uphill battle. The challenges I pursue are therefore indicative of my will to succeed.
I hope to meet someone interested in financing, producing, and filming the screenplay.
Your professional feedback is nevertheless appreciated.
