A group of monsters arrive in Lightening Ridge, a small mining town in the Aussie outback. Their species is dying of insomnia and they come to steal our sleep.

SYNOPSIS:

A young doctor Josh Cyrus, who is haunted by the ghost of a girl he accidentally killed, is shocked when, one by one, his patients are hit with a mysterious sleep disorder that forces them to stay awake for days. Each person tells him that just as they fall asleep they see a terrifying creature standing over them. The monster attaches a tube from its throat to the person’s throat. Josh tells them they are hallucinating but when he realises each patient describes the same creature, he starts to take their fears seriously. And as the otherwise healthy patients die, one by one, Josh knows he needs to capture the monster or he will be blamed for their deaths
