A British Indian princess is forced to choose between fighting the kingdom that gave her birth or the kingdom that raised her, after an unjust attack from her lover’s grandfather the British king.
SYNOPSIS:
The British traveler Ann Worthington leaves her baby girl Samantha and her maid Milady Cook with her Michorian friend Chandramukhi Singh (Michor is an Indian kingdom) and disappears. Chanramukhi then adopts the baby and renames her “Sundarta”, a Hindi word that means beauty. 2 years later, she marries the Michorian king Krishna Bai, and so Sundarta becomes a princess. Also, Ann’s friend marries the British
king Edward III. Queen Lilly dies while giving birth to Prince George. Then, Ann adopts him.
2 decades later, Ann travels with Prince George to Michor, as George is going to India to sign contracts while Ann goes only this time to meet her princess daughter. The prince and the adopted princess, known for her extreme beauty, wisdom, and talent in dance and martial arts, fall in love. Krishna asks to meet Edward before signing the contract, after listening to Worthington’s opinion about him. Indeed, Ed, the
worst king ever, arrives at Michor and meets Sundarta. The latter and her father accept to sign due to silver (huge lack of it in India), where the two princes confess their love to Ed. His rival asks him to stay to celebrate the Navratri. He accepts so he gives his son a chance to propose. He indeed
does. And so they get married.
5 years later, as Sundarta’s in Michor with her 3-year old daughter Lilly, Edward discovers how naturally wealthy Michor is. And so, with George’s presence, he decides to attack the royal fort with his soldiers there. He threatens his son with banishment if he tells Samantha. But he does by sending a coded letter. The smart wife solves it and discovers the plan. Ann advises her first to defend her origins. But after
thinking about her husband's risky move, she decides to defend the kingdom that raised her. Indeed, she does inform Krishna who imprisons every British soldier on his land. However, one of them runs away and tells Edward the story. The latter immediately banishes George and travels with a massive army.
Bai attacks as well after imprisoning Sundarta for her protection. Luckily, Ann and Milady set her free. The battle ends with the death of the two kings and then the burning of Chandra with Bai’s corpse (sati). Prince William, Ed’s brother, keeps George banished, and travels with another army to Michor. Queen Sundarta chooses to perform the Jauhar with the women (mass self-immolation) while the 500 left soldiers
fight their last battle (saka). Indeed, Ann jumps in the fire while by order of the queen, Milady runs away with Lilly to George and tells him the whole story. The British poor public performs a revolution for destroying a whole kingdom but it fails.

A Dances with Wolves, Avatar, Last Samurai-esque idea of questioning allegiances; choosing sides when you're committed to both - as long as it's not done so simply as to make the the audiences empathy lopsided it'll make for great drama.
