GENRE: Horror, Action
LOGLINE: After a career hitman claims another kill, he must determine whether he has finally lost his mind, or if he is now being haunted by his latest victim.

SYNOPSIS:

Gunn Smith is an Iraq war veteran turned assassin who’s hired to kill an old man that plays the banjo, living in the wilderness. Seconds before Gunn can kill him, the Banjo Man performs a magical curse on him. In the following week, Gunn has nightmares about Banjo Man. When Gunn’s brother Redd comes to town, he wakes one morning to find the Banjo Man in his kitchen, they fight and Gunn kills him. The illusion fades and Gunn sees he has actually just killed Redd. After disposing of Redd’s body, Gunn is shaken, but he needs answers. He investigates the Banjo Man’s body at a coroner and another Banjo Man illusion gets him into a confrontation with the police. Gunn goes on the run and gets in touch with Stefan, the man who manages his wetwork, convincing him to reveal the identity of the person who hired him; Amara Nasir, a decorated professor of Islamic studies. Unfortunately, Gunn sees Stefan as the Banjo Man, impulsively killing him right in front of his security, who respond with a firefight. Gunn escapes and confronts Amara after hours at her office. She tells him that the Banjo Man killed her father and since Gunn is having these illusions happen to him, he failed, and now they are both doomed. Amara reveals that the Banjo Man is actually a Jinn, a shapeshifting Islamic demon. She devises a new plan to trap the Jinn and save them but ends up turning the trap around on Gunn. She confesses that it was actually Gunn who killed her father when he was touring in Iraq and she used the wrath of the Jinn to punish him. She takes control of the Jinn and makes Gunn kill himself.
