GODS AND MONSTERS

GODS AND MONSTERS
By Alyse Kane Riley

GENRE: Fantasy, Drama
LOGLINE:

A millennium before Homer wrote the Illiad, a young, naive Medusa wanders the streets of Mycenaean Greece in search of purpose, but the world quickly spirals out of control when Gods intervene and monsters emerge... Can Medusa and her unlikely allies unite Greek Kingdoms, Hittite mercenaries, divine Egyptian princes and Celtic druids to fight an even greater evil than each other?

SYNOPSIS:

During the end of the Bronze age, Medusa lives in Mycenaean Greece making a few coin posing for art classes. In search of greater purpose and connection to her birth family, she commits her life to become a priestess in the name of Athena. But unknowingly a young man (Poseidon) has set his sights on her, and after raping her in the Temple of Athena, the goddess Athena's scorn is unleashed, condemning Medusa to a life of solitude, never to set her eyes on a man again without turning him to stone.

This sets a journey in motion for Medusa to seek out the oracles to try to change her fate, but worlds collide when she meets neighboring civilizations like the Egyptians, Hallites and even the Celts who realize a force, much bigger than the monsters they know, "THE SEA PEOPLE", have made a deal with a God and seek to take over the world. Can the Greek Kingdoms, Hallite mercenaries, divine Egyptian princes and Celtic druids come together to fight a greater evil than each other?

Our story takes the mythologies of Gods and Monsters from the Iliad, and twists them into a game of telephone. This series reveals the Monsters, not as horrible flesh eating, man killing beasts-- but as real people, with tragic circumstance. It is the Gods who toy with mankind and make deals with evil men who want to see the world burn.
