A boy who splits his life between the real world and his made-up world in which he defends the cosmos suddenly collides. Now he must find the strength inside himself to beat his biggest challenge ever if he wants to save them both...

SYNOPSIS:

Max is a regular boy by day. He lives at home with his single mom who works hard to provide for her son. They love each other and are always straightforward with each other, no secrets between them. When he’s at school he has his friends and of course the school bullies who love to pick on him and his friends. He has his favorite teachers, his favorite subjects and a very caring principal who has been like a father figure to him, but that’s just the daytime. At night it’s a different story. Max does have one secret he keeps from his mother. When he goes to bed he changes from regular Max to Mighty Max, the defender of space. Max along with his trusted crew of his stuffed animals (all who come to life) fly through the cosmos and save people, species, and planets from intergalactic bullies. As leader of his crew, they have never met a challenge they could not beat. Life is great for Max until the day he gets the worst news of all. His mother has cancer and it doesn’t look good. Max is sad and angry. After hearing the news, he runs up to his room to take a nap and to find a bully to defeat. In this nap, this is where he meets his greatest enemy of all time, Major Kan. (Every time a crew member from Major Kan’s army addresses him it will be Major Kan Sir.) Major Kan has traveled far across the galaxies to meet the mighty Max and to defeat him to prove he is the strongest of all. The battle is quick with Major Kan winning. He lets Max leave making him vow never to come back to this world or he will be destroyed. Max says goodbye to the crew and wakes up. Tears running down his face he makes the hardest choice of his young life, he puts his stuffed animals away in a trunk. As the months pass Max is there helping his mom and grandparents who have come to live with them out as much as possible. No longer the fun-loving Max, he gets into a fight with one of the bullies. He loses and as he is taken into the principal's office where the principal lets him know that even though you can’t always win, it’s okay to lose as long as you never give up and always get back up. Max’s mother is disappointed in Max for fighting and sends him to his room. As he lays in his bed he thinks about his losses, the fight to the bully and to Major Kan. As he thinks of Major Kan, he hears one of the crew members call him Major Kan Sir. It dawns on Max that he wasn’t saying Major Kan Sir, he was saying Major Cancer. Max knows he must defeat this enemy if he wants to save his mom. Max grabs his crew members of the trunk and they quickly return to space to confront Major Kan. This battle is quick, and Max and his crew are taken prisoners. Major Kan finds of Max is just a child and throws him into a cell. Max is devastated. He thought he could save the day but ends up failing. In the cell is another prisoner, she is weak and dying her face covered by rags and her hair. Max wants to help her but doesn’t know how. She tells Max there is always hope, that you need to believe and it’s okay to ask for help when needed. Max moves the rags and hair to see that prisoner looks like his mother. He promises to save her. She lets him know that even if she doesn’t make it, she will always be there with him even if he can’t see her, just like all his loved ones will be. This fires Max up. Max and his crew break out of the cell, as Max looks for the prisoner, he finds out she has disappeared. Max swears not to lose again. They escape to their ship and flee Major Kan’s ship. They are being chased down by Major Kan and his crew. Max is ready to confront and defeat him. Laughing Major Kan reminds him they lost twice already, what will be the difference this time. Max calls his friends into the dream. They arrive with their own ships and crew. Major Kan realizing he is outnumbered tries to run but is destroyed. Everyone celebrates. Max soon learns that his mom has also defeated cancer.
