SYNOPSIS:

Present time. EMILY (14), whose father is an emigrant from India, is going to take a part in a poetry contest, devoted to Emily Dickinson, the famous American poetess. By that way, she hopes to impress MARK (14), her co-ed poet and ex-friend, and, of course, a literary agent from New York, who is expected to be at the contest, too. But stubborn inspiration doesn't come. The girl finds a comfort only in her old hobby – making bracelets. The last thing killing her is an encounter with a stranger, BICK (15), in her own room. The stranger takes a book, a collection of Dickinson's poems, Mark's gift, and quickly disappears.

In the contest, nervous, Emily can't read her poems. She leaves it with tears in her eyes. Bick witnesses her sorrow, pities her and gives the stolen book back, but he himself loses a silver bracelet decorated with flowers. Emily finds the bracelet that turns out to be a key for a time machine. The girl sets off on the journey to Dickinson's time.

Visiting the POETESS (40), she discovers an amazing world of the nature, where a Bumblebee helps her to find medical herbs, and a mysterious bird Hoopoe guards strawberries in the forest. The Poetess gets her inspiration not from a wish to be published, but from her amazement at wonders of the nature. One wonder leads to another, and this chain of wonders may lead to poetry. Gradually, Emily forms her chain of wonders, showing her talent not in poetry, but in making bracelet-like muffins.

One day the Poetess' manuscript disappears. The girl hurries to the time machine. She meets Bick, who turns out to be a pirate stealing different things of celebrities before they become celebrities. He demands to give him the silver bracelet back in exchange for the manuscript. As the pirate gets the bracelet, he demands the manuscript threatening Emily to leave her in the past. If Bick takes the manuscript, the world will learn nothing about Dickinson. Risking, the girl runs away, gives the manuscript to the Poetess, and hurries back to the machine, but it has gone...

The Poetess gives Emily a small bouquet. It causes a new chain of wonders. The machine doors open. Bick shows up on the threshold. His silver bracelet disappears as soon as he leaves this time. He can't leave this time without Emily.

During the flight, the girl makes a new bracelet from the bouquet. It is exactly that thing Bick has been looking for in her room. Similar bracelets manages all house-hold appliance in Bick's time. Being thankful for her adventure, Emily presents the bracelet to Bick. The pirate gets amazed – usually he steals things...

As Bick and Emily walk to her home, they meet Mark, who is talking with the literary agent. Bick drops a sheet of paper with Dickinson's hand-written poem. Mark notices the poem and runs after the girl. Bick neatly disappears leaving the girl with her friend.
