A desperate young girl joins a crew of space pirates in a treasure hunt to an asteroid and wrestles with danger and romance from a charming scoundrel.  "Treasure Island” in space.

SYNOPSIS:

In the middle of a space battle, dashing young pirate Clay Morgan tries to recover a recording from a former crew member, who takes it with him and escapes to earth in a shuttlecraft.

The crew member lands at a failing spaceport operated by 20-ish Jill and her mother. When he unexpectedly dies, Jill finds the recording device. Morgan and friends invade the spaceport and pursue the two women from afar. Jill and mother find refuge in their scientist neighbor's house, and discover the recording is a map to a fortune of energy crystals buried on a faraway asteroid.

They meet with a space-age tycoon, who finances an expedition to find the crystals. The mother remains at the spaceport, while Jill and the scientist assemble a crew, including Morgan and his friends.

First smitten with Morgan, Jill overhears about his plot to take over their spaceship and steal the crystals.

When they land on the asteroid, Jill finds a marooned pirate living in a cave, which she, the scientist, the ship's captain and others use as a refuge to battle Morgan's men.

When Morgan wavers in his loyalty because of his affection for Jill, a rival pirate takes over as leader. Morgan flees with Jill and ultimately defeats the rival.

The marooned pirate reveals where the crystals are, and the heroes escape just before the asteroid blows up in an earthquake explosion.

Jill and Morgan wind up together and promise to modernize the struggling spaceport. With the fortune onboard, their ship speeds back to earth.
