THE KLINGSOR INITIATES

THE KLINGSOR INITIATES
By Alec Cuddeback

GENRE: Action, Adventure
LOGLINE:

When a madman tries to overthrow the U.S. with the supernatural power of a Crucifixion relic, an athletic TV newsman uses his unusual talents to battle him, in action-packed combat and chases.

SYNOPSIS:

Vienna, Austria: Two armed men assault a museum and steal an ancient relic from a display case. It's the spear that pierced Christ's side at the Crucifixion, has mystical powers, and has been a symbol of domination for centuries.

Baltimore, Maryland: Ex-football player turned newscaster, Zack Peterson, is a dogged reporter who stops at nothing to get a story, but his patriotism always comes first.

While he interviews a group of revolutionaries, police attack, and a furious rooftop pursuit follows, with Peterson hostage. One revolutionary is killed, two are rescued by unknown individuals, and two are taken prisoner.

Peterson nearly dies in the attack and has an out-of-body experience.

Like many reporters before him, Peterson believes in the First Amendment and refuses to turn in his notes to the police, so he faces contempt charges. When Peterson and his ambulance-chasing cameraman appear in court, the rescued revolutionaries show up to free their comrades. A gun battle erupts. The revolutionaries escape in the bloody assault, and Peterson follows in a street chase.

He's captured and stashed in a private plane, which flies out of Baltimore and lands at an abandoned army complex.

He meets a megalomaniac Arab ruler, who's named himself “Klingsor”, a mythical villain from King Arthur’s time. Klingsor has recruited violent revolutionaries to carry out his twisted scheme, and invites Peterson to document it.

Klingsor manages to harness power from the ancient spear, using sexual energy. The spear gives him the ability to brainwash or “initiate” kidnapped government officials and even cabinet members to be his followers. Klingsor's mind is implanted in every initiate.

Carefully-chosen assassinations begin. The goal: Use the line of succession and have an initiate take over as President. Klingsor orders Peterson to undergo initiation, and the newsman uses out-of-body-travel and tries to resist it.

When Klingsor and followers fly back to Baltimore, Peterson jumps out of the plane and into the harbor.

The aircraft lands at an abandoned factory. Klingsor’s henchmen corner Peterson, but he gets himself arrested on purpose.

Next morning, Peterson gets out of jail, and his cameraman buddy shows up. They discover their news director is an initiate and plans to blow up the President at nearby Fort McHenry that day.

Peterson and the cameraman reach the fort just in time to save the President.

Police and military assault Klingsor’s men at the deserted factory. The aircraft blows up. Everyone is presumed dead, including Klingsor. American soldiers attack the old military complex the next morning and capture the remaining Klingsor followers.

Days later, as Peterson broadcasts from the factory location, Klingsor emerges from a hand-dug bunker, insane for revenge.

When police interrupt, Klingsor dashes off, and Peterson races after him.

After a hair-rising chase with a news van, stolen cop car, bicycle, and runaway trolley, Peterson and Klingsor square off. Peterson gets hold of the spear, hurls it at Klingsor, and kills him.

Final scene: Peterson's apartment. He stares at a makeshift shrine. Hypnotized by the spear. What other hidden powers does it hold?
