Expand commentI was like you, afraid to write, to put things on paper, but I got brave and decided that I was going to write, because writing is my passion. I believe that you can only make better what's already made, which means you need to put down what you have on paper. Nobody is perfect the first time, and trust me, the best screenplay takes time to write. There is the first draft and then there is the second draft, and more, so whatever you put down now, consider that something rough, if anyone sees it, you tell them it's the first draft. We all need help. Some of the best screenplays were written by more than one person. You have nothing to be afraid of; the best of us were no good when we just started out. The best writers have people who edit for them, so don't worry, just start writing. Here is what I'm working on right now. One selfish act from a mother almost ruined the life of a child. Claudine Robinson was only seventeen when she got pregnant; her parents were Christians who didn't believe in having a child out of wedlock. Claudine needed a way out, so she told her parents that she was raped. Her parents told her that the child should not be aborted, but that she should have the child and give it up for adoption. They sent her away from the town she lived in. Claudine had the child and decided to keep her; she was a beautiful baby girl. However, Claudine was given an ultimatum by the parents, who told her to give her up for adoption, or keep her out of their sight; Claudine chose to do the latter. When Claudine met Winston, she fell in love with him; she didn't tell him she had a child, because he too was from a Christian family and wanted a woman who didn't have a child out of wedlock. Claudine came clean about having a child to Winston, who decided he was going to leave her. Claudine told him the same story of her being raped, and told him how much she had chosen to keep the child over aborting her. Winston found that admirable and went ahead and married Claudine, but he told her that he would never love the child as his own. Fifteen years later, Maesha, a beautiful, simple little Puerto Rican looking girl was living a life, which was a nightmare, while her two other sisters, who were African Americans were constantly being showered with gifts by their father. She stayed away from people, because she was afraid that they would tell her that she was conceived as a result of her mother being raped. She never asked for much, but she knew she didn't deserve to be treated this way. Will her mother come clean to her step-father and her siblings, or will she allow Maesha to continue suffering because of being afraid of losing her one true love, the man who was her husband? When I get ideas, just write them down. I've finished the first draft of this; I could show it to you if you want me to.
