A cachiered Blackhawk pilot helping a Japanese/American family reconcile over a half centry after the Second World War runs afoul of an obsessed Aussie treasure hunter, a pirate just trying to make an honest buck, and a crazed Yakuza crime lord, all of whom believe someone in the family possesses the secret to the greatest war horde never found; The Golden Lily.
SYNOPSIS:
An ex-Blackhawk pilot, Jack Gerrit, is running a two plank bar in the Filipino backwaters when Oda, a Japanese war veteran, approaches for help. Oda has learned he has family, the grand daughter of his twin brother, whom he lost in the war. Sent to retrieve the young woman, Jack finds out it's a trap. Oda unknowingly possesses the secret to locating a Japanese war horde and the message was bait to lure him from decades of hiding. Jack and Lily flee back to the Philippines, and believing they have shaken pursuit, a psychotic Yakuza crime lord, Oda and Lily decide to solve the war time disappearance of their common relative. What they don't know is that Sydney, an Australian smuggler/treasure hunter, had recently stumbled across clues to the treasure in Oda's home, and when Jack, Lily and Oda begin their quest they have no idea they have a nutter Aussie in tow. Jack, Lily and Oda become entangled with Yosh, one of Sydney's old smuggling partners, and after double crosses, triple crosses, a pirate mutiny and a Yakuza coup, Oda sacrifices himself to Yakuza capture to save Jack and LIly. Jack and Lily pursue, with Yosh seeking revenge for the destruction of his smuggling base and Sydney still doggedly in the game, Arriving at the real location of the treasure, our heroes face even further challenges. Even if they manage to rescue Oda, surviving Yakuza, pirates and obsessive psychotics, the Golden Lily (A real treasure) is the Filipino national past time. Treasure is hunting no longer “Finders Keepers” and between shyster lawyers, greedy insurance companies, and corrupt governments, all more than willing to expend a few bullets for an inflation adjusted treasure of over a trillion dollars, (The real estimated value of the Lily.), unless they can figure a way to get the world's largest bull’s eye off their backs they’ll be on the run for the rest of their lives.
