SYNOPSIS:

Clara's father had given her three pieces of advice - do what she was good at, that daughters learned best from their mothers, and to be a good girl. Clara had never been good at anything, but she was determined that her daughter wouldn't meet her same fate. She let her husband raise their son, but her daughter's upbringing was to be left to her. From a very early age, Clara made sure her daughter was a good girl, giving her lessons in how to be a lady fit for any man.
