Postcards takes us on the journey of Tim, a biracial young man in 1970s Michigan. Orphaned, his aunt and uncle took him in. After Tim's uncle loses his job, the family is forced to move in with Tim's racist grandparents, who make it very clear he is not welcome. He meets Noel, a white girl from his class, and for the first time, really feels accepted. A threat made by his grandmother sends Tim to the Merchant Marines. While away, he writes Noel postcards from each of his ports of call. Five years later, Tim returns to his hometown. He doesn't know Noel moved during his absence. When he comes to call on her, he finds Agnes, a young black woman, living in her house. Their initial meeting turns into romance and blossoms into marriage and family. Will their union survive when Noel comes back to town for a class reunion? (feature, drama)
