SYNOPSIS:

Short Synopsis

Other than some narration, all dialogue is sung akin to Les Misérables (2012). All dialogue is almost word for word from the Bible, the best-selling book on the planet with 80 million sold per year with a total of 5-7 billion (in over 1500 languages) total sold worldwide. (According to Guinness Book of World Records)

Yeshuah (Jesus) goes into the wilderness and encounters LUCIFER (Satan), who tempts him to use his powers for himself, but Yeshuah stands firm on the written word of God and ultimately banishes him.

Yeshuah visits his hometown Shul (temple) of Nazareth where everyone has known him for the past 30 years and attends a Shabbat morning service. When the RABBI OF NAZARETH (60s-70s) hears Yeshuah proclaim himself to be the Messiah, he weeps as his congregation revolts and throws Yeshuah out in disbelief.

Yeshuah begins his mission and performs miraculous signs, responds to the crowds with profound wisdom and love.

As a test of his loyalty to the Law of God, the Pharisees bring A WOMAN caught in the act of adultery to Yeshuah for judgment. Expecting him to uphold The Law and pronounce a death sentence, he says, “he without sin cast the first stone”. The crowd, in amazement, drop their weapons and leave as he proclaims himself the Light of the World.

CELIDONIUS, a man born blind, gets a miracle and receives his eyesight from Yeshuah. Celidonius is mocked by his own neighbors who don’t believe he is the same man who used to sit and beg, and they bring him to the disapproving HIGH PRIESTS. They question him and his mother and don’t believe his testimony and throw him out of the temple.

The fame of Yeshuah spreads, and his following and influence grows. Yeshuah recounts stories and parables to his disciples. Nicodemus, (an elder of the ruling Pharisees) seeks him by night as Yeshuah explains to him that to see the Kingdom of God, he must be born from above.

Yeshuah performs more miracles, such as raising a friend named LAZARUS from the dead. All the Jews know the story of Moses so when Yeshuah tells the crowd HE is the manna (bread) from Heaven, many stop following him because of disbelief, but it makes his disciples stronger. Eventually, Yeshuah and his followers make their way to Jerusalem and after he prophesies and weeps over the city’s destruction, he makes predictions of the end of days. On the eve of his death, Yeshuah participates in a Passover Seder with his disciples. There, he predicts his betrayer and JUDAS runs out of the room. Straightway Yeshuah goes to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane in the dark of night. As he agonizes and sweats blood over his impending death, the disciple Judas, arrives with torches and guards, kisses Yeshuah, thereby identifying him as the one to be arrested. In an illegal court Yeshuah is tried by the Pharisees and found guilty of blasphemy. Finally, he is brought to the Roman Ruler, PONTIUS PILATE for judgement and is condemned and crucified. His mother, MIRIAM, sings a tragic, heart-wrenching aria called, “A Sword Pierces my Soul” while looking upon her crucified son. On the 3rd day, with a flash of lightning Yeshuah is resurrected from his tomb. At the empty tomb, an ANGEL visits MARY OF MAGDALENE and reports the event to her. Yeshuah himself then appears to her as a gardener. Others soon discover that Yeshuah has risen from the dead. Nicodemus rejoices.
