I've had great success using film school students. They generally work hard, they're enthusiastic and they want to make a good film as badly as you do.

I'm Paul Rothbart a writer/director based in Connecticut. My partner Cooper Campbell and I made our first film last year, a comedy short called "Isn't It Romantic?" We got an online distribution deal and it will be released on April 15. We are currently in post production with our family sitcom pilot, "My Spirited Sister".

The best one is the one you like best and gets you too sit down and be productive. Nothing else matters - we either send PDFs or hard copies most of the time - so it doesn’t matter if it’s FD or fade or movie magic. Go with what you like. As long as you format you can use is up to snuff - you can use Billy Widler’s old Remington typewriter. Only the end result is important.

I use Final Draft. I use to have issues with older versions of FD like 6 & 7, but since 9 came out it has been perfect. I write everything on that except for novels. TV Shows, Movies, and my comic book scripts are all on FD. I also really like their notecard outline feature.

I use writerduet. Is it the best? who knows? But its not the software that gets you a deal! As long you find it user friendly and has the features you like then write.

Hi Lina, I don't write scripts, I read scripts, so it's rather important for me to know the correct length.

Courier Final Draft is the standard for film scripts. Courier New gives a false page count.

Ok don't get your ego in a tizzy... Hey in college if your writing a APA, MLA they all had specifics for a reason that's all I'm saying. As someone you is obviously used to reading scripts I'm sure you know which font is comfortable on your eyes. Like someone comment one is larger than the other yet they are still in the "Courier" family. Also you'll only no if a page is a minute by timing it as you read... just responding to your post. Personally, I've been using Courier Final Draft. I find it's far easier on the eyes. Maybe it's just me. haha

I hope more female screenwriters succeed as there seems to be a problem with many films with the imbalance of strong female roles. I believe your gender should not matter and the quality of your work should speak for itself. Best of luck.

@ Mrs Davis , yes they can because you will and i will dearest , get that fear off your mind and push it up , sucess does not require genda , its matter of determination and commitement , what so ever you chose in life is what you will always be .

It does look like young male screenwriters succeed more and it's due to the high rollers who control Hollywood. Since more of them are men, young men are given more preference. Of course, that's not fair. I wouldn't say that you are wasting your time screenwriting. I am a woman and some may consider me to be a senior although I don't look or feel like one. But you know it's the age thing that this society gets caught up on. But age is but a number. It all depends on how you feel inside. I'm not going to think about any wasting of time when it comes to writing. I just simply love to write so that's what I will do. Albeit, it would be absolutely divine if one of my scripts was actually optioned.

Search "Cheap business cards" and psprint has them for less than $25 for 1000 but only through the search link... full color, double sided!

http://www.vistaprint.com has 500 cards for $9.99, but I would suggest making your own. With the right program (I use Corel) you can do some amazing things, even double-sided. It takes time to set it up the first time, but it's for good. Then whenever you need more, just hit print.
