BAR BABIES

LOGLINE:

It's About a Sixteen year old Runaway who gets interested in hustling in a Bar, because it's better than hustling in the streets. Shadow, meets a Female Runaway on the Streets, and she feels sorry for her and Offers to buy her a drink in a Club called Cals.  When the Runaway whose street name is Rocket get's comfortable, a few of Shadow's friends come and joins them at there table...And they have lots of interesting things to say to the Newcomer about what they represent and what they do, and where they want to end up in there life.

SYNOPSIS:

A Voice Came from Across the Street, and the minute Shadow saw who it was, She became Annoyed. Ms Brown must've got off the City Bus. An Outreach Counselor for teenage runaways, and she had been hounding her for yea's about her own life. She was coming in Shadow's direction already mid-way across the Street. Amid 50ish Woman. Shadow thought she had three sons who all died at the hands of violence, and it is the reason for her hitting the street's at all hour's of the days and night, fighting and look for runaway's. She had told Shadow once that she was afraid of nothing, that she had lost her sons, and if she lost her life, that her fight was just over. Ms Brown look alive still, for someone who had gone through so much misery.

Ms. Brown:

"I'm glad to run into you Shadow.

Shadow:

"You shouldn't be out here this late at night Ms Brown.

Ms. Brown:

"I'm looking for this girl. (She pull's out a police snapshot of a young girl)

Shadow:

"How old is this one?

Ms Brown:

"Thirteen..."She escape from the Detention Center a few day's ago. (Ms Brown gives Roxnne a glance of the pic too)

Shadow:

"Haven' seen her, but I'll let you know if I do.

Ms Brown:

"She's a sweet kid whose just had a hard ride in her life.

Shadow:

"Some of these kids want to be out here..."You know this.

Ms Brown:

"Maybe..."But most of them don't..."Take for instance...you..."You were one of my maybe's.

Shadow:

"I had know choice.

Ms Brown:

"And now?

Shadow:

"I'm not a kid anymore Ms Brown.

Ms Brown:

"We argue about this every time don't we Shadow?..."And what about you? (She looks to Roxanne) "Are you ready to get off these streets and start over? "There's shelter..."A warm bed and a hot meal for you if you want...And I'll help you.

Roxanne:

"No..."I'm fine.

Ms Brown:

"What is it about the streets that makes these young girls want to stay out in them?

Shadow:

"I don't know Ms Brown..."Laying on your back is as good a profession as any.
