PREMISE:

After the 1917 Russian Revolution, the Bolshevik Secret Police assigned young VIKTOR as a guard to the Czar’s Family in captivity for almost a year until July 1918.

But, even as his prisoner, it was ANASTASIA’S wilful ways and warm girlish charms that captured Viktor’s heart.

Secretly, he admired her strong independent spirit and sense of civic duty.

Anastasia saw him as the ever militant child while she was forced into maturity.

Viktor saw a vibrant future to marry his altruistic political ideals with her worldly benevolence.

He finagled and wrangled to get himself assigned as an executioner to Anastasia, then loaded his gun with blanks and secretly gave her a strong sedative to take when the Firing Squad assembled the Czar’s Royal Family.

Later, when the bodies were being removed, he defiantly escaped with hers in a wagon to London, where she may have other blood relatives besides the Royals.

Viktor brought Anastasia 3,000 miles, travelling mostly by freight train out of Russia, but walking, sometimes for days, to avoid Official border crossings through Europe.

All the while, Anastasia is sick with grief and influenza ... and hunger...

Viktor’s contact at the Embassy has received a telegram.

Bolsheviks Agents know Anastasia is still alive and in London.

They will arrive within the month to complete their mission.

They will, of course, deny their intention to kill Anastasia.

But, she can prove the Bolsheviks’ unconstitutional and abusive actions which will compromise their political power and as the last pure blood of the Czar, Anastasia can still take the rule of Russia away from them.

Only her death guarantees their absolute power.

Anastasia needs a safe place to hide.

Great idea! and so much better than the Fox version - more thoughtful. Good luck with it! The Fox version is "the same as the 1956 film by Fox, written by Guy Bolton and Arthur Laurents, which, in turn was based on the 1955 play by Marcelle Maurette ... It is the most profitable film from Don Bluth and Fox Animation Studios to date." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anastasia_(1997_film) But also "Her possible survival has been conclusively disproven. Forensic analysis and DNA testing confirmed that the remains are those of the imperial family, showing that all four grand duchesses were killed in 1918." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Duchess_Anastasia_Nikolaevna_of_Russia

Truth is stranger than fiction ... "After they were killed by the Bolsheviks, it was discovered Anastasia and her sisters were all wearing amulets bearing Rasputin's picture and a prayer ... A few days after they had been murdered, the German government sent several telegrams to Russia demanding "the safety of the princesses of German blood". Russia had recently signed a peace treaty with the Germans, and did not want to upset them by letting them know the women were dead, so they told them they had been moved to a safer location ... Boris Soloviev, the husband of Rasputin's daughter Maria, defrauded prominent Russian families by asking for money for a Romanov impostor to escape to China. Soloviev also found young women willing to masquerade as one of the grand duchesses to assist in deceiving the families he had defrauded."
