Welcome to the weekend, everyone. Hope you all had a terrific week.

In this edition of the Weekend Blog, diversity and sexism in Hollywood is back in the news. I have 4 articles speaking to the subject in the first spots under ENTERTAINMENT NEWS.

Also in that section, why Hollywood studios are trusting untested directors; Max Landis sounds off; why Martin Scorsese is destroying guns; Quentin Tarantino waxes poetic; speakers at AMAI sound the alarm for independent film; more news from the Relativity bankruptcy hearings; a bunch of SAG-AFTRA election news; theatrical windows continue to close; binge watching overtakes beach reading; UK and the Ukraine throw their hat into the tax incentive ring; a classic film heads to Broadway and much, much more.

As always, I welcome thoughts and healthy debate on any and all the subjects above in the Comments section below.

Under TIPS this week, I have tricks of the trade for those interested and/or working in acting, filmmaking, screenwriting, post-production, editing and cinematography.

In the VIDEOS section, a cool vid looking at whether indiefilm artists can afford to shoot on film as well as a video argument speaking to the “brilliance” of the second season of True Detective and a breakdown of the storyboarding of American Beauty.

Finally, we have all the site happenings to get the most out of your Stage 32 experience under STAGE 32 NEWS, POPULAR AND INTERESTING LOUNGE DISCUSSIONS, STAGE 32 NEXT LEVEL EDUCATION, STAGE 32 MEETUPS and, of course, STAGE 32 SUCCESS STORIES!

On a side note, I’ll be around to address any comments until Saturday, then I will be off the grid for a bit. Here’s wishing you a creative, healthy and happy next 10 days!

Enjoy!
