Love this Amanda Toney. It's so great to see fellow Canadian Pamela Anderson getting all the love she's getting, after going through absolute hell. The script feels so relatable to her life and many others.
Inspiring story, Amanda Toney! Gia Coppola could've given up on getting Pamela Anderson to lead in The Last Showgirl, but she didn't. Screenwriters and others in the industry need the same mindset. Thanks for sharing the article!
Honestly, I swear some agents do more harm than good. The number of times we've had to force a script through into an actor's hands, only for them to fall in love with it, despite their agent seemingly doing everything to stop it happen is bizarre.
This is one of that moments that inspires all of us! “ First-time screenwriter Kate Gersten had one actress in mind to play the heroine of “The Last Showgirl”: Pamela Anderson.” She didn’t gave up! Thank you Amanda Toney for sharing.
You'd think the family name Coppola would get show biz ppl interested. Guess not. I remember Sofia saying she personally met with Bill Murray; she wrote the movie, Lost in Translation, for him only.

In 2007 cinemathographer Robby Muller (Paris, Texas , Dead Man) assured me that the agents come in later.

In my experience, no definitely means no. Pushing the issue only breeds resentment.

I'm looking to miraculously get Spielberg for a script that has garnered international attention.
