The North Wales town of Bangor hosted a special World War I remembrance event on August 4th, 2014. At 11pm, exactly 100 years after the beginning of World War I, as all lights in the city we switched off. In the hour prior to this, soldiers from WWI were remembered in Bedwyr Williams' deeply moving audio-visual presentation 'Traw' onto the enormous facing wall of Bangor University’s new Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre, making a connection between the sacrifices of the past and the hopes of the future.
