Careworx : gangnam style | Cameron Micules

My client, CareWorx, needed to make an impression at a conference with customers and prospects. My agency had everything ready to go - photographer, print materials, marketing integration... then with one week to show time the plans changed. I decided to jump on the parody band wagon and set to work. I wrote the lyrics to a "gangnam style" song that fit the industry, then recorded it quickly in GarageBand on a Blue Snowball and my Macbook Pro. Then I called a t-shirt printer friend of mine and ordered hundreds of shirts printed with a QR code on the back that linked to an online landing page. On that landing page was an event-specific promotion, as well as the space for the video I was about to shoot. I packed up my laptop, my Xoom H1, my Canon 60D, a couple lenses, tripods and flew down to Florida with my client. I got up in front of everyone at the welcoming dinner event and challenged them to join me in dancing the gangnam in exchange for a t-shirt and internet immortality. Yes, the production quality is mediocre. Yes, the choreography is terrible. Yes, it could have used a lot more post work. No, the client didn't care. It served it's purpose.
