'The Things We Leave Behind' is a short science-fiction film about a young woman and a young girl who wind up stuck together in a basement during an alien invasion. As the young woman is quick to try and find a way to the next "safe spot", the young girl is drawn in by the history of the basement and the stories behind all the objects left there. In their time in the basement, the two must face the fragility of their own existence.
