In one lifetime the community of Tuktoyaktuk, or Tuktuuyaqtuuq in Inuvialuktun, has grown from 5 to 6 houses on the shore of the Arctic Ocean to a small hamlet and tourist destination. As time goes on and life in Tuk changes, the traditional knowledge that was core to life in the North seems to be getting lost with today’s youth. But the elders of Tuk are working to change that.
