Liberty belle | Gretchen Dzedzej

In September of 2009, one of the first video projects I undertook was to film the visit to Charleston of the Liberty Belle, a WWll vintage B-17 bomber. I had planned to film more when they came again, and to one day put together a documentary about the plane and the people who made it their livelyhood to share her and her history with the public. Unfortunately, On June 13, 2011, she caught fire shortly after take-off. She landed safely and all occupants escaped, but the Liberty Belle was lost. This video is a tribute to the Liberty Belle, and to the people who brought her to us so that we could remember this important part of our history.
