Executive Producer of film & television content. I very much enjoy being a part of the Stage32 Educator team. Looking forward to teaching the upcoming Stage32/Netflix seminar "How to Write To Budget". Hope to see you there.
I've heard executives use the term, "think of every word as 100 dollars" so I'm curious to see what kind of expertise you have to bring to the table. Just registered.
Hey, Jeanette B. Milio! Wow. First off, thank you so much for taking on this next Netflix webinar! I know it's going to be great - and probably long - so thank you for investing in our progress! Second, HOW COOL IS IT THAT YOU'RE IN THE LOUNGES?!!? Thanks for showing up in the community and showing members just how accessible you (and really all of us) are.
You rock, and I look forward to seeing you on Monday! long-distance high-five
Hi Jeanette. I’m busy with a novel and I’m in my final stages of writing. My goal is to have it converted into a series. The story is similar to Acrimony with a bit of a South African local flavour. Government does give money for locally produced movies. There are some scenes that might need to be shot in Europe but I’d like to connect with you so we can see if this is something that might be of interest to you.
I really appreciate Stage 32 posting the webinar for us working folks. You had a lot of amazing advice and insight, Jeanette. There's just so many variables that add up production costs from cast count to child actors, multiple locations, scenes, foreground and background. Simplicity is definitely the name of the game for budding writers. Thanks Jeanette!
Thanks for sharing this Jeanette. There's some fantastic information and advice in this subject, and I am sure all will find it extremely useful and informative. Is there anything specific you produce/finance?
@Phil Bridge - thanks for your post. Presently we look at fiction and non-fiction television series, as well as feature films in commercial genres ( not Horror though ). The projects we invest in and produce must work for a global audience, and be suitable for US and international distribution.
Jeanette, your webinar was nothing short of spectacular. I'm always preaching to writers that they if they learned to understand what it takes to get what is on the page, on the screen it would not only make the writing stronger but also help them take notes more easily. Thank you!
@ Laurie Ashbourne, Thank you so very much for your kind comment here. I truly hope it can help writers expand and understand what they can do to support their producers in getting their concept green-lit.

What are your classes like? Is it over a zoom call, or how does that work?

I've updated "Stand Tall!" -- still 96 pages, but with new copy. Go to Loglines to check it out.
A 2-page written pitch is also available, which I can email if interested.
