Kurosawa's Ikiru has been remade with Bill Nighy about a civil servant in post war Britain. The film is called Living. Not sure if it got released in the US. Saw it in London a couple of months back with a Q&A with Bill and producer Stephen Woolley.

At the very top of my list of director/creators.

I definitely think there are intellectual property rights issues you are up against, but maybe another creative way around it would be for you to create a social media account with various snippits of the comedy in your script that might capture the attention of Wiseau?

Thanks for responding. I have no IP rights on The Room, of course. What do you think snippets of the script should consist of? Written script excerpts that people can read, or performed excerpts people can see? I have no problem walking the talk regarding how funny this script is. I'm on hiatus from writing for several reasons, including a frustration beyond this wordsmith's ability to articulate.

Don't worry about anyone stealing ideas! If it's a really good idea, I can assure you it's being done in parallel by someone else (or multiple other writers, including those working directly with/for studios) or it's been done already. It's execution that matters, and related to execution, entertainment industry execs need an EXTREMELY compelling reason to take time out from their day jobs to go to bat for your script. They really need to think it's a slam dunk.

It's not just ideas, Mark, it's nuggets, liners which could be put on a t-shirt or get the show going viral. It could be pitches, bits... details, clever names etc

Maurice, I have my own original script as well, which is what I'm mainly focused on. But again, simply, fans of The Room, who see my Part II will go crazy in a good way. If the studios that filimed "The Disaster Artitst" or Tommy are interested and they love it, then why should it not be done? Existing characters returning and being more entertaining than ever will be easy for fans to "get". That's more about selling the greatness of the script, itself, than me, myself and my "originality".

Good question, Maurice. As far I know, I copywrote that which I created based off of it. I expect Tommy, who has the most to gain from this endeavor, to be the biggest challenge. His narcissism, which includes the unwillingless to endure any criticism whatsoever, is why "The Diaster Artist" is not nearly as great, truthful or hilarious as it could've/should've been. Tommy hated the book "The Disaster Artist" and said it was mostly b.s. because it was critical and revealed b.t.s he would rather not own up to, like the original cast and crew quitting, or audiences taking a long whille to warm up to the movie, turning it into a cult obsession based on a combination of that billboard being up for literally years costing 5 grand per month, combined with a piece of torn paper which cost nothing, posted in the cashier's booth, saying "No refunds after 15 minutes" or however long. I read that Tommy suffered a lawsuit loss of 750k from a documentary production company, because he wanted to control or block it because of how it makes him look. I would beg and plead to Tommy Wiseau these wise words which he needs to know so he can make lots and lots of dough/$$$$$$$$$$$$: IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE AUDIENCE IS LAUGHING AT YOU OR WITH YOU, LET THEM LAUGH AND YOU WILL LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK! If he can let people laugh at him and accept the "worst" side of the "best-worst" coin and let people say what ever they want and accept and be serene with the fact that all of us are imperfect flawed human "beans" but THAT'S OK, NO NEED TO HIDE THAT or photoshop ourselves or our personas... and control the narrative and B.S.people including himself... If he can do that, including learn to laugh at himself, including the script I had fun with that the world would love.. he will be a more rich and famous man... and more adored far more than ever before! If he can only see and embrace the big picture and the long vs short term

Thanks for the offer Jeremy but seems like uwe got some good insight of this guy (better than me anyways) I'd go with plain old "Hello"...

You know, Samuel Beckett was also known to be notoriously "arrogant" with people "borrowing" his work especially "Awaiting for Godot"...he spent lotta time chasing up lawsuits on this matter, but then this guy Miodrag Bulatovic wrote "Godot Arrives" without even consulting Beckett...it was said Beckett immediately requested a copy of the play...read it...said nothing...no lawsuit :)
