THE ELEMENTS: NATURE'S SUPERHEROES
By Timika S. Chambers

GENRE: Action, Adventure
LOGLINE:

When a 66-million-year-old asteroid remnant threatens to unravel Earth, and avenging dark angels seek to extract good from humankind, a group of teenagers, along with the help of the last light angel and The Staff of Realms, must learn to harness their supernatural abilities to remove the asteroid and restore Earth and the balance between good and evil.

SYNOPSIS:

Billions of years ago, harmony reigned among the angels on Planet Ur, the planet of time. However, this peace was shattered when Master Uzock, a polyglot and the once-upon-a-time most devoted angel to goodness, turned against the Light. In preparation for the time allowed for darkness to reign, Master Uzock uses the Light Extractor, a weapon he developed, to remove the light from all of the light angels and eventually humankind, paving the way for Earth’s destruction and eternal darkness. Before the Grand Light Angel Master Shinzo loses his light energy completely, he imparts a crucial mission to Shoko, the presumably last light angel, and gives him The Staff of Realms, a sword-staff and balancer between good and evil. Eli, the dark angel second in command, tries to stop Shoko from his earthly mission by unleashing a fireball towards Shoko. Alexis, a child angel half dark and light with telepathic abilities and the daughter of Master Uzock, destroys the fireball before it reaches Shoko. Shoko escapes Planet Ur via the portal to Earth. But before the portal closes, Master Uzock releases a growing accumulation of rocks. In the dimensional rift, Shoko attempts to deflect the asteroid with The Staff of the Realms but is unsuccessful as the staff remains stuck in the asteroid, and a smaller version of the asteroid still causes a massive explosion on Earth. In the meantime, the dark angels, along with Darkness Supreme, the master of evil, wait for their appointed time of unleashed power.

In 2028, Earth baptizes five teenagers with darkness, fire, water, and electricity. During the first invasion of Earth by the dark angels, the superheroes unveil their novice powers to Master Uzock and unknowingly to Shoko. Master Uzock prolongs the battle to watch humanity suffer. After the dark angels retreat, Shoko convinces the children to come with him. During their time with Shoko, the children learn about the battle between good and evil, their supernatural powers, and that they must find the Staff of Realms to help bring their powers together to save Earth. Shoko starts to train the superheroes. Eager to get his father, Mr. Edwards, a geologist, to help them, Brian leaves a clue that leads to Shoko being captured by Illusion, a female dark angel with the power of confusion and the one a frustrated Darkness Supreme enlists to retrieve The Staff of Realms. On the same day of their false victory with the dark angels, the superheroes realize Shoko's capture, the crew meets James, an angry 16-year-old with the power of geokinesis. Brian also introduces Alexis, Master Uzock's daughter, to the group. Realizing Brian and Zack are the reason for Shoko's capture, the team breaks up. Before the superheroes can carry out their plan to save Earth, Master Uzock kidnaps Alexis. While trying to save Alexis, Brian is also kidnapped.

On top of Earth’s unraveling, trusting Alexis to help them, finding the Staff of Realms, and dealing with humans void of goodness, the children must learn to believe in themselves and unify their supernatural abilities.

If the elements are the superheroes, why are the children the superheroes? Are the children elements?

Timika S. Chambers

Thank you so much Rose for commenting. Yes...Earth baptizes the children in its Elements to save itself.

I am purposefully not reading your synopsis as you logline should ideally stand on its own. Is Earth personified? Who is responsible for the mass destruction? What is the form of mass destruction? Nuclear war? Pollution? A rogue asteroid? The connection between the use of “elements” in the title and “children” is not clear to me. If the earth is damaged, nature will fix it over time. Children aren’t necessary. Making children responsible for saving the planet is a heavy ask. It could seem almost immoral, if not presented in the right way.
