SYNOPSIS:

Helen Miller is a lonely mother from the Midwest, who finds herself estranged from her gay son, Billy, and her daughter, Emily. When Helen is invited to Billy's wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, she mistakenly arrives at his drag-themed bachelor party and meets Billy’s loud and loveable fiancé, Jessie.

Helen’s outdated views and judgments create a rift between her and her children and to make matters worse, Helen’s daughter is secretly leaving behind her prestigious career as a book editor to pursue experimental art, a choice that adds another layer of tension.

After being disinvited from Billy’s wedding, Helen returns home feeling isolated and full of regret. But when she receives word that Emily has been in a serious car accident, Helen rushes back to Florida with renewed determination to mend her broken relationships with her children and accept them just as they are.

Just As You Are is a touching exploration of how love can overcome even the deepest divides, showing that it’s never too late to make things right. The story will resonate with audiences who enjoy character-driven narratives with both humor and emotional depth. The script balances comedic moments with poignant, heartfelt ones, illustrating the complexities of family dynamics and personal growth.
