LIGHT OFF-SCREEN

LIGHT OFF-SCREEN
By Oleg Mullayanov

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE: His film was seen by the whole world — now the whole world is watching him. When an accusation destroys the career and marriage of a young director, he realizes the world demands he choose a role: the innocent victim or the monster. To preserve himself, he must stop his own story, where the ending has already been written.

SYNOPSIS:

KEVIN REYNOLDS is the new face of world cinema. His debut, The Quiet Scream, has conquered critics and festivals. He has learned to live in the spotlight, but his only quiet harbor is his marriage to REBECCA Everything shatters in a single day. An anonymous allegation transforms Kevin from genius to monster in the tabloids. His life is instantly cleaved into "before" and "after." The news, social media, former colleagues—all become authors of a new script for his biography, where he is the villain. But the real drama unfolds not in a courtroom, but in the space between Kevin and Rebecca. Every unspoken doubt, every questioning glance, erodes their marriage more slowly than any public verdict. While lawyers build a defense, Kevin builds a wall. While the world demands he choose a role - the Innocent Victim or the Secret Monster - he realizes any role would be a surrender. "Light Off-Screen" is not a story about crime and punishment. It is a story about what happens to a person when their identity is erased under the pressure of a public narrative they cannot control. A film about how to remain yourself when the whole world has already decided who you are.

Interesting. It doesn't matter at this point, but there is a real American film director named Kevin Reynolds. Kinda famous too.

Oleg Mullayanov

I didn't even know there was such a director, Marc Serhan, thank you.

Great premise Oleg Mullayanov. You can actually shorten the logline if you choose. It would make it simpler and quicker to assimilate by a perusing executive. Then consider adding stakes so the audience knows what will happen if the protagonist does not achieve his goal.
