For me it does. I can't write with pure silence. My question for you guys is that, does this help you? I've been wondering this for a little while.

Hi David. Happy to connect. Curious...what made you ask?
hey steve! happy for the request. quick question: do you have video editing experience as well?
gone for (more than) a minute...back in the saddle. looking for theater/film creatives in/around cambridge, md. so far landscape looks extremely dry. please...holla if you hear me!
j...it's been a minnit. whatcha workin' on now?
There is always one screenplay on the run. Currently workin' on an adventure with the workin' title: The wolf King" -- thanks for checkin'. What abot yu??
So as I have been working on the screenplay Absolution, I kept getting the movie poster image in my head. In my day job, I am a marketing guy. So rather than fight it (which wasn't working) I just produced the damn thing and put it on the wall in actual size. I can't decide if I am motivating myself or torturing myself. Now before some of you start going - that's not the screenwriters job and don't show that to anyone - NO KIDDING. It's just for me. I had to get it out of my head, but now it's in my face. I am way too invested in this project at this point. I might need to find a short to work on or something. Thoughts on it? https://www.stage32.com/profile/366604/photos/All-Photos#110836470098009...
That's great, Stacy! What a fun way to motivate yourself! Now, perhaps, begin to develop another story while you're polishing up "Absolution." Use it to keep going! Don't be too precious about your first darling. ;)
That's a good look on the poster, Stacy.
Excellent poster. I think it's great motivation.
...those of you who write and shoot your own films, how did you fund them? crowdfunding? personal assets? 2nd mortgage? loans? credit cards? and do you raise ALL money up front, then shoot? pay-as-you-go? use the barter system with other artists? please...do...tell!

I'm primarily a writer, so at this point I write projects that can be made with minimal money and fuss. Therefore, they are more likely to spark the interest of filmmakers in an industry where for the vast majority of us, there isn't much money.
I agree with you, Liam! Sometimes, it's a question of values. A casino player doesn't mind losing thousands or even millions of pesos (our currency in the Philippines) . Yet, he or she will not even share in a P10,000.00 for the production of a good movie project.
@alle: i'm a newbie. what do you mean when you say ' If a project is on a royalty basis, then all people are royalty'? @eric: how short was your short? and when you say you shot it in a day, how many hours did you work, exactly. (p.s. i'm a little afraid of craigslist! LOL)
When you are buried in one story, writing its screenplay, then another pops and the third drops, streaming down through your veins, perhaps a fourth-- damn, I find this pretty challenging! What is your experience?? How do you juggle through several screenplays to write at the same time??
i work on the one where the characters are speaking the loudest. the noisey ones won't be quiet until they're satisfied. LOL
Oh! Yeah? LOL! Renee-
Alle, you must be some kind of a human robot (no disrespect intended)- Multi-tasking!
Would like to get some face-time with like minds in the area. Any takers?
Music most definitely helps me. Sometimes I have to make sure that I have music playing BEFORE I start so I'm eased into the right headspace, otherwise I get distracted by whatever shiny thing happens to catch my attention. #adhdwriting
All the time. Illustration when I have been location scouting via Luxury film homes on my Stage 32 Wall, the music in each video not only motivates me but gives me story ideas.
Sometimes I will have music on, but when it's hair metal or a song I really love, it totally distracts me because then I feel like getting up to dance.
