THE CRYPTO CAPER
By James Syring

GENRE: Crime
LOGLINE:

Forced to quit her Wall Street job because of constant sexual harassment, a beautiful finance genius seeks revenge and enlists the aid of a straight laced banking expert to hack into the world's financial institutions and steal vast amounts of money they can turn into untraceable crypto currency, an easy task as long as they can keep ahead of the dogged investigator who is on their trail as well as some unsavory people who would do them harm.

SYNOPSIS:

Banking expert Randall Severance and his wife Simone are flying to Zurich on one of his business trips. Randy gets up to stretch his legs, leaving his computer with his wife. Simone is having trouble finding information on the computer when Victoria DeLong slides into the seat next to her and offers to fix the computer. When done, Vicky gives the computer back and disappears. Later, they realize that Vicky has hacked their computer and may have access to Randy’s trove of secret banking access codes. Over the next couple of days, Randy has a personal account shut down and a picture of a naked lady shows up during his company presentation. Done teasing them, Vicky asks to meet and convinces them that if they help her siphon money from some institutions to use for investments and then return the principle with the exception of some people who earned her wrath because they sexually harassed her until she quit her Wall Street job. Those people will be financially destroyed. Today, she runs a private company and is expert at crypto currency and off shore bank accounts but needs Randy’s bank codes to strike big and quick. Convinced they can get rich and not get into trouble, the Severances agree. She tells them that Randy’s boss is skimming money and is one of her targets. Randy hacks into various world banks and Vicky pirates money from them. Randy’s boss notices some activity regarding his private accounts and brings in Malcolm Baptiste, a legendary investigator to find out what’s going on. The quiet crime wave continues.

The Firm of Lighthouse and Quikstep in London has a power outage. Everyone is told to temporarily wait outside in case there is a possible gas leak or other danger. When they return, their computers are all showing U-Tube videos of cats.

A currency exchange in Cairo has all its computers suddenly freeze. Just as suddenly, all of the computers come back on line with a recipe for strudel.

In Washington, D.C., The Federal Reserve Bank computers go dark. When they come back on line, they are all showing Jerry Lewis in “The Errand Boy”.

Since Malcolm eschews violence, Randy’s boss contacts some unsavory friends and, suspecting Randy, they decide to play hardball. Simone is kidnapped and rescued by Vicky. Malcolm decides that Vicky is less evil than Randy’s boss and helps her. Vicky makes it look like Randy’s boss has stolen from the North Koreans who show up at his office and throw him off the roof. Randy and Simone buy their long desired private island and Vicky and Malcolm end up happily together at Vicky’s penthouse in Macao.
