Film & TV Pro yay or nay?

Hi All,

I've been using Film & TV Pro USA for some time now and they are now charging to view job ads on their site. It rounds out to be $120/year. I'm not sure if it is worth it but I also don't know where else to look for jobs. Do you have experience using this site? Is it worth the cost?

Carl Welden

Film & TV Pro is now switched back to the Mandy banner apparently. I've never gotten work through either, but I have gotten a gig through Stage32

G.S. Ford

Stage32 is a great free option. Mandy.com is great, but they charge now as well. other options include linkedin and general social media across several platforms linking back to your website. Craigsli...

How to find...

Hey everyone, I had a quick question, how do you find crew people to work for free!!!! Lol, sorry, it's been a harsh quest and I am having trouble meeting more like minded people wanting to start from the bottom like myself. My city is populated at just about a little over 100,000 and film-making ba...

Again, thank all of you for the support, I look forward to future relations and perhaps endevours via these networking opportunities made available by Stage32!

Hi Peter, I'm looking into some far-outside-the-box experimental ideas for a project myself. i.e. Hiring VO actors via Fiverr.com to read lines, then working with animation software that synchs VO aud...

That's fantastic! Best of luck to you Abigail. Cousin of mine was in a film that showed at Cannes years ago and a close friend was part of a crew (animator) that won an award at Cannes in the 1980's.

How Important is Your Title to You?

Interesting to note that at the Austin Film Festival last year I attended a panel of readers, contest judges, and gatekeepers, and every one of them said they couldn't care less about the title when a script comes across their desk. But as a writer I have a hard time relaxing into the story if the t...

H All! I can't say for script submissions but I can say there have been movies I have skipped and books I have avoided because I was turned off by the title even though they had excellent reviews. I feel a title can make a difference in either direction.

Baljinder Singh Gill

Title is very, very important I believe. We're prejudiced to it. It's like when I'm flicking through my movies TV guide to select what to watch and record the title will give me an immediate impressio...

Joe Welcome to Stage 32 and thank u very much for the info. However, since i have a day job will not be able to attend. These meetings would be best from 5:30 on-- more practical i think. Take care!

Online Courses?

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone has any links to online courses available in filmmaking? I am looking to do some distance learning, I understand that its hard for someone to learn this kind of thing over the internet, but if anyone knows of something, please could you let me know? Cheers, Aaron.

Aaron Falvey
