Great advice, thanks! A lot of similarities between getting ideas for/writing the first draft of a screenplay and a novel.

Hey, all! I'm a published author with aspirations of seeing one of my novels on the big screen (what author doesn't?). Whether that means writing the screenplay myself or generating interest with an experienced screenwriter...who knows. That's why I've been lurking on Stage 32, looking for direction. There's a lot to learn!
Philip and Cindy, I adapted my novel BUTTERFLY WINGS (2000, iUniverse) as an exercise--I agree that it is a terrific learning experience!
Hi Cindy. I wish you the best in your endeavors. I have learned a lot on stage32 and look forward to learning and hope that goes for you too.
That's encouraging, Kathleen. Kudos on the Honorary Mention! Keep writing and that ship is bound to come around again. :) Happy Christmas to you as well!
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. So keep i simpel with sophistications. And keep away from navel complentations. Plus.: Film is not pictures of moving moments, but pictures which tell stories, cinematic stories - and moves the whole soul & body.
So true. Character, character, character. Without a strong character arc, you have no story, just a bunch of noise. Thank you!
Indeed. Thank you both for reading and taking the time to comment!
Hello, Virginia! Sorry for the delayed response.
No worries hon. I know how life is :)

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
RB
