A New York City police woman copes with PTSD through one-night stands. A near- death experience causes her to take a sabbatical on a boat, seeking solitude and a cure for the lustful urges that have her drowning in a sea of men. She encounters, a stray dog, a troubled girl and a man who refuses to be another conquest. If she accepts what her new acquaintances have to offer, she may find the cure for what ails her.
SYNOPSIS:
Sydney is a humble hero drowning in a thankless job. She goes far beyond the call of duty to prevent crime and protect citizens in a city that never sleeps. The stress of being a Cop in the Bronx has created obstacles in her personal life. She turns to sex as an outlet, never allowing herself to date or get to know a man, it is always a onetime hit and run.
She trusts two people in her life, her Chief of Police father, although it is a rocky relationship and her psychiatrist, “Doc.” The only two people she listens two have good intentions, but she longs to become a responsible thirty-five-year old woman, capable of making healthy choices on her own.
After a near death experience she follows her instincts and flees the city to the unknown – the new England coast in a small yacht. Little does she know as she runs from what almost killed her, wrecks her yacht and encounters a troubled girl, a stray dog and a man who refuses to be another conquest. Will she continue to run or embrace a new life and give those who entered it a chance to save her from herself?
Our main characters dilemma and the desire to control what some call a mental illness, is unveiled with humor, adventure, and hope. You'll find yourself rooting for a woman who must win her battle between lust and love, to discover if love can conquer all.
