By John Kevin Bell

GENRE: Sports, Comedy
LOGLINE:

An NBA star enrolls his son into Texas Preparatory School where a washout coach works with the math teacher and the NBA star to turn the schools Brainiac's into a winning team.

SYNOPSIS:

Scott Wilson, a washed-up former phenom, leads a low-stress existence coaching basketball at Texas Preparatory School that no longer values athletics. When a new student Ty Bridgelow— who happens to be the son of an NBA and Harlem Globetrotter superstar Adonis Bridgelow— transfers to the school, Scott feels something he hasn’t felt in a long time: pressure. His roster is filled with a ragtag collection of smart, but undersized kids, so Adonis considers moving his son to a more competitive program.

That’s when Rashid, an enthusiastic math teacher, and basketball fanatic, convinces Scott to embrace a little-known and unusual offensive system using geometry and Google glasses. Together Scott and Rashid, with some help and guidance from Adonis, recruit and train players to implement this bizarre system. It’s a bumpy road at first, but soon the team starts to jell and turn the heads of even their staunchest rivals. Through brains, determination, and some dumb luck, these unlikely partners coach the team to glory… and learn a few life lessons along the way.

This fresh take on a timeless underdog story will explore competitiveness and compromise while poking fun at different coaching and parenting philosophies. It’s a comedy about friendship, challenging the status quo, and the power of daring to dream the improbable.
