After the death of his long-time girlfriend, a devoted boyfriend experiences a hard time coping with grief – up to the point of not being able to leave the place of the death and thus, living on the street.
SYNOPSIS:
Both being 25, May and Sam buy their first house in the suburbs with the help of their friend Michael. The couple keeps a secret together as on the first night May mentions someone who she ‘wonders who he could have been’. Soon they meet new friends: Alyssa - she has schizophrenia and Penny – she has been homeless for the past year, lost a childhood friend who was also homeless and burned alive, and now depends on her sister. They learn about the local ‘sheriff’, a very close person to Michael - Mr. J – who had a strong childhood trauma and lived through the death of his daughter, who passed away due to overdose. On the second week of living here, May dies in a car accident at the city center.
Time passes and Sam still doesn’t understand how can he live without May. He is told the case is unsolvable and tries to get something from Alyssa (she has witnessed the accident) when finds out she experiences psychosis, and for the first time for many years had visual hallucinations. Soon Alyssa learns about her father’s death and, trying to get away and calm down, gets a heart attack. At the same time, Michael gets his repressed memory back – he is involved in Mr. J daughter’s death. Sam understands he can’t stay in his house – he packs a bag and spends the night in the center, on closest the sidewalk to where May died.
Michael talks Sam into going back, but he doesn’t feel like he can do it. Michael visits Penny and learns she has lost another friend and most likely will never see her again – she is sick and might die every time soon. Mr. J visits Sam and has a heartful conversation with him. For the first time, Sam feels like he can talk about how he feels.
A jump into the future – from old Sam we learn about how each one of his friends died and that right before moving in, he and May had a miscarriage. The child is the person who May wondered who he could’ve been. After May’s death, Sam never had a family or kids.
Back to the present – the city center is busy today and Sam embraces it’s finally time to go home. As he walks down the street, never looking back, he meets support from random people, which dazes him – why would they care? Happiness for the support he couldn’t dream about and tearing sadness battle in him – May is still dead. Exploring his emotions and letting them out, he finally gets home.

Great idea. We've all been through that level of depressing grief that completely immobilizes you - even when life requires you to carry on or go broke. The Logline needs trimming though as it tends to be get prolix or parts ("experiences a hard time in coping" - cannot cope).
