GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

After the death of their father, two sisters return to their childhood home to face the past and try to mend their fractured relationship.

SYNOPSIS:

Sober” is a short film that centers around two sisters; both struggling with substance abuse. Frankie is almost one year into recovery, while Jessie's relationship with alcohol is slowly becoming more destructive.

Haunted by the abuse they both suffered as children, the two women are lost, isolated and struggling to function in everyday life. When their father, their abuser, dies and leaves Frankie and Jessie their childhood home it only seems to drive them deeper into their emotional turmoil. Ignited by Frankie’s desire for change, the two sisters decide to journey back to their childhood home and face the scars of their past. The decision weighs heavily on Jessie, who would rather drink her problems away and her reluctance weighs heavily on both sisters.

Along the way Frankie and Jessie face multiple setbacks. Each physical and emotional roadblock brings a temptation to end the trip altogether. The two women are forced to face their past and their own personal relationship. Something that could drive a permanent wedge between them or help them realize what got them through their childhood was the sisterly connection and powerful love they've always shared.
