Really unique, Susan Lerner! Sounds like it's gonna be funny!
I think the logline needs a little work. Just a little. How about: "After being expelled from junior college, a _______ (adjective) _______ (her title or position -- Example: Cop, agent, cashier) sets out to make it as a private eye in 1980s suburbia, bringing her ten-year-old niece and wisecracking grandma along to help."
