About John

John is an award-winning screenwriter from the UK. He wrote the short drama film, 'Long Lost Father' which premiered at Film Fest Ghent in 2014. A two-time Best Horror TV Script award winner at the LA Crime & Horror Film Festival, John primarily writes in the horror, science fiction, and fantasy genres.

A Candidate Member of the Writers' Guild of Great Britain, his TV pilot scripts Demonica, Outsider, Darkdale, Guardian of Ash, and The Third Cycle have received a number of accolades and placements in screenwriting competitions, including the prestigious Austin Film Festival and reaching the Coverfly Red List. Additionally, he is a Stage 32 Recommended Writer (Coverage for Guardian of Ash).

Outside of writing, John has spent most of his adult life as a carer for his disabled mother. He's also contributed essays to several print publications on classic and cult horror films, such as Hidden Horror and When Animals Attack.
