Jack Stoddard, a struggling, geeky, NYU engineering student, splurges on a state-of-the-art cell phone. The phone somehow syncs to Jack's DNA profile- with the long gone El providing a link between what is and what once was.

SYNOPSIS:

Jack Stoddard uses a forgotten gift card from a now ex-girlfriend to splurge on a state-of-the art cell phone from a bodega in the Bronx. Turning the phone on for the first time during the in-store demonstration, he hears a strange, distant rumbling noise that no one else seems too hear. Stepping outside he looks up- seeing and hearing the roar of the Elevated Railway above him- the El, torn down long ago.

Jack discovers that he has somehow tapped into the magnetic, electrical and infrasound capabilities of the phone, and the El is the key link. Turning to re-enter the store, he finds instead his uncle's bar, a 'speakeasy', where his father mysteriously disappeared, years ago.

Is Jack the only one who has made the connection with the El- or are there others as well? Jack must now weigh the risk of possibly changing events forever.
