With society on the brink, an altruistic nurse discovers a sweet man with Superman-like abilities, but no memory of who or what he is. Bound by love, they embark on a journey to reveal his origins while trying to fix this broken world with him as the world’s first superhero.
SYNOPSIS:
This is the tale of Adam & Vanessa and their tragic and romantic journey to save the world, and an examination of society's co-dependent relationship with heroes and celebrities, and the dark nature of man vs. the will (or lack thereof) to overcome that darkness.
Picture Earth at its rock bottom. All the worst times of the past fifty years all happening at once. Corruption, War, Environmental destruction, Terrorism, Racism, Addiction, extreme income inequality, crime, societal division, with bad guys everywhere, many of which wear the faces of heroes. A world so dark and beaten down, at this point you’re either a victim or part of the problem, with very few willing to or able to fight the downward spiral this world is in.
Enter VANESSA, an altruistic African American working-class nurse. Unlucky in love, and a fighter, but frustrated by how powerless she can feel against the injustices of the corrupt society around her. Those two things change when she meets ADAM, a mysterious and physically flawless John Doe discovered at her hospital. Their romantic and sexual chemistry is instant as she takes in this lost puppy, only to discover he has super-human powers!
Despite her initial fears, she promises to help Adam discover who he is, and what he can do, while using these super-powers to help fix this broken world. Adam, having no memory of anything before waking up to Vanessa’s face, he is childlike in his naivety. A being so “blank” and impressionable, and lacking the emotional walls of protection a lifetime of experience gives you, he becomes a reflection of the world around him, but when that world is dark and desperate, what will that shape him into?
It’s a reluctant super-hero story, an intense and tragic romance, and a series-long mystery. An epic tug-of-war involving the White House, Corporations, the Mafia, the Church, and seven-billion people who expect our omnipotent ‘Hero’ to save us. As viewers attempt to guess the origins and purpose of this mysterious man episode to episode, while also following the evolving stages of the relationship between a desperate society and the being it sees as its savior. A relationship that mirrors the relationship our society has with real-life heroes/politicians and celebrities, in how they build and destroy its Heroes, that ultimately ends with Adam learning who and WHY he is, and asking the ultimate question, on whether he will save our dark, desperate, and broken world. Do we deserve to be saved? This is Hero... KingsOTR.com/pitchdeck
