A
young man wakes up with no memory, except for vivid flashbacks of
violence. All he knows is he’s wanted for murder, and he’s not
sure if he actually did it.
SYNOPSIS:
Two 30-ish thugs, Craig and Shive, a knife sadist, spy on scientist Newmeyer, 45, who hands something to Evans, 35. They tail Newmeyer, see his burning sports car, and presume he’s dead.
Ken, 21, runs into an alley, and a thief knocks him out. A drunk, middle-age Englishman, Harry, passes out beside him. Harry’s teen daughter Rachel and her two friends take both men home to recover.
Ken has amnesia and suffers lurid flashbacks of a bloody Evans. Newspapers publish a drawing of Ken, suspect in Evans’ murder. Rachel and friends try to help him. Ken raids Evans’ office and uses matchbooks from various bars to track down the dead man’s past. At a gay bar, he finds a name, but patrons recognize him as the murder suspect. He escapes when Craig and Shive come to his aid.
Craig reveals Ken’s identity, and pieces of his memory come together. He figures out Shive murdered Evans to steal what Newmeyer gave him, and the two thugs want to use Ken to help them. Afraid for his life, Ken flees. Craig and Shive pursue, but Rachel rescues Ken, and they drive away.
Ken and Rachel find Evans’ gay lover, and he turns over a flash drive. It contains a demonstration video of Newmeyer’s energy device invention, along with the formula, which the local power company wants to destroy.
Rachel’s computer friend hacks into a database and produces an address list. They hope to find Newmeyer’s house and evidence to clear Ken. The two thugs continue to chase, and Ken and Rachel get separated.
Craig and Shive kidnap Rachel and demand Ken bring the flash drive to Newmeyer’s house. A very-alive Newmeyer intercepts Ken, but Craig spots them and forces them inside.
Shive smashes the flash drive, Newmeyer overloads his experiment to explode, and he’s shot. Ken kicks Shive out a window, and the villain falls onto his own knife. Police burst in and kill Craig.
Everyone scatters out of the house, except the mortally-wounded Newmeyer, who stays behind. The place explodes.
Police evidence clears Ken. He’s a saxophone player, whose recent rock tune, played throughout, is a gigantic hit. His full memory intact, Ken runs out of the police station and into Rachel’s arms.
