Jason, a naïve, brown kid from rural Florida, leaves behind his “evil stepmother” to go after his big break, becoming a character actor at a low rent theme park. He soon discovers his road to happily ever after is full of detours when the Charming Prince, the dictator who controls this whimsically deplorable place, sets his sights on him. With the help of two jaded, veteran employees, Jason must learn to survive this strange new land.

SYNOPSIS:

When his dreams of attending acting school in New York are destroyed by his “evil” stepmother, Jason, an early 20s gay, brown kid, decides to audition for a job at “The Most Magicalest Place Ever,” a low rent Florida theme park. Think Disney, if it was a front for the mob. Soon after getting hired, Jason comes to realize that this is not a typical theme park and that his good-natured demeanor is quickly becoming a threat to the characters in power, the Parade Court.

When a lost little boy, wanders into an employee only area, the only character willing to help him is Jason. As he attempts to reunite the boy with his family, Jason solicits the help of Izzy and Angie, two jaded theme park veterans. Izzy, fully understanding what is at risk, tries repeatedly to get out of the task, to no avail. Angie, on the other hand, whole heartedly accepts the mission as she sees it as a way to stick it to her ex-boyfriend and leader of the parade characters, Charming Prince. Word eventually gets out that Jason is actively disobeying the Charming Prince’s decree to stop “outshining” the Parade Court, and the matter must be dealt with.

Charming Prince puts a plan into action to catch Jason and his cohorts in the act and arranges for the boy’s parents to meet him at the entrance to the park, which also happens to be where the parade begins. Realizing that it’s a trap, Jason and the others come up with a plan of their own to evade the Parade Court. During the nighttime spectacle of the Bioluminescent Swamp Gas Jamboree Parade Jason, Izzy, and Angie attempt to return the lost boy to his family. They are surrounded and cornered by the parade characters, but with the help of Hot Dave, the leader of the ride workers, the team is able to achieve their goal without being caught. The parade and the park go back to normal, but Angie decides enough is enough and that it is time to overthrow the Charming Prince. The tag reveals Jason’s “evil” stepmother, who set all these wheels into motion, will soon be joining the staff at the theme park as the newest wicked queen.
