Mukumo is a queer boy navigating bullying by his peers and judgement from his father. Soon, he stops running to take a stand and be his name.

SYNOPSIS:

This story follows a young queer boy, Mukumo, who gets bullied at school by peers because of his sexual identity. He is found wounded and sobbing in the boys bathroom by his bestfriend, Kahewa. Kahewa expresses her concern for his wellbeing and suggests that Mukumo talks to authoratitive figures to help the bullying stop, which he immediately turns down. She reminds him that he has power in his name and that his late mother named him Mukumo, which means brave and courageous for a reason. While the two friends celebrate Mukumo's 16th birthday in his room, their joy is overshadowed by judgement when Mukumo's father walks in to see his son wearing a dress and make up. The situation gets physical but this time Mukumo gains the courage to stand up for himself.
