I'm a California-based screenwriter. I've been honing my craft for several years while attending DIY film school. Podcasts, blogs, and books on screenwriting from Amazon's vast library have factored prominently in my education. Reading great scripts have taught me even more.
Sabrina's backstory:
Back in high school, my senior year English teacher encouraged me to seriously consider pursuing a career in writing. I thoughtfully considered what my teacher said, and then my low self-esteem led me to ignore his advice for over a decade.
In the fall of 2016, I decided to give stand-up comedy a go as a way of overcoming my fear of public speaking. I overcame my fear by bombing onstage--and I mean bombing hard in front of both strangers and my peers. I licked my wounds, shook off the soul-crushing experience, and continued on. In the two and a half years it took me to go from "Good job, keep doing it!" to "Hey, Sabrina, that was a really good set!" I realized that I enjoyed writing comedy far more than performing stand-up. And it was then that it dawned on me: I was passionate about writing and I loved movies, so what if I put as much effort into writing screenplays as I did into honing my stand-up comedy skills?
After experimenting with writing in different genres for several years, as of 2024 my primary focus is on crafting comedies and dramas that are infused with comedic elements.
