I've signed a few. As John and A.S. mentioned, though - make sure you run it by a lawyer, if need be. The language can be tricky sometimes. Don't rely on registering your script to protect you. Lawsuits are expensive and the other guy might have deeper pockets.

yea that sounds off but long as its not bonding you for a long time and u got a couple scripts under your belt go for it what do you got to lose? now if you feel its your best script or only script then that tells you he not the one to make it happen with. a producer must understand the potential client do to when he or she is new affordable and profitable for them. a director helps the writer an actor express them selves to just get it all out example Tyler Perry Janet Jackson. depending on what type of writer you are you got to ask your self is it about the money or your point of view of the topic you pitch meaing how much do the screenplay really mean to you. my model if you wrote one hit film you cant write another its like when jay z said i herd people saying they made hov so he said ok make another hov in response of him leaving the roc point is do u respect his work enough for you idea what do you consider him a rock or a mountain ? best of luck to you.!!!!!

If you want experience be willing to pay good, my suggestion is beta readers, it's fun, friends and family are honored that you choose them, and less expensive, but you do have to pay something for there time...good luck

Hello, everyone. Sunday's hangout went well - no snafu's. Donna and Deborah were able to be there and we had a nice time getting to know each other and a productive conversation. Your writing It's always something, Set a deadline for just mediating on what your writing. Don't write, just go into thought about it, sometimes it takes time, but aren't all good scripts, nothing but time?

I think I understand. You started with a great idea and somewhere along the way during the writing, it's kind of petered out to something uninspired. It's not that uncommon, nor does it mean the origin premise wasn't good. I write novels as well and this happens all the time - which is why I outline to make sure my premise has legs to get to the end. What I recommend is to set the script aside and start working something else. Put it in a file for later. I have an "ideas" folder for my unfinished stories and ideas for future work. Sometimes it takes the melding of two good ideas to make a great story. And that might happen here. Or, in time, after rereading it later, you might be able to rescue your idea and finish. Good luck.

revise your plot , change character , may be from male to female , or the other way i young to older , even the set , i have feeling you will start seeing thing developing in different direction , fresh and virgin , tell me if it will not be lively in your eyes . cheers .

On the other side of the spectrum take a look at 'Napoleon Dynamite' and it had none of the above that you mention. (Well, there was some slight violence here and there but none of the graphic stuff you see in many new films and the 'foul' language was pretty much limited to 'flippin' or 'dang'). :^) Their budget was under half a million and it grossed $44 million.

"Foul" language is not what attracts one to the theatre. It is a fad and overused lately in films that is spreading like wildfire. Think in terms of Gone with the Wind! many more oldies...they were and still are winners and no foul language there.

I agree 100% Dr. Huizing. I believe we once counted over 120 'F-Bombs' in 'Scarface.'

If you keep true to the story, put whatever you need to in.

I would go even beyond Leon and say TOTALLY organic to the story. I despise watching violence, for example, but because the characters and storylines in BREAKING BAD were utterly compelling, I hung on every moment of the way. It should never, ever feel tacked on.

Co-labs are hard to work unless you know the writer well, and your styles are similar. Why do it unless you can't write yourself.

Whenever I hear about co-writing, especially people who haven't made it, I think of Good Will Hunting...That was a collaboration and see where it ended up?? If you find the right person to collaborate with, collaborate away!
